Food to our Brain

What kind of  food that we eat everyday? Does the food we have eaten can feed our brain?
Why we need to feed our brain.. because we need our brain.. to eat the food that we have to eat.

The most important organ in our body is our brain. We use it all the time - we need our feelings,emo,anger,calm... even stress also is come from our brain!

Our brain need sufficient energy in order to act/kick into gear when we push the button. Are the energy from sweet and fatty food that we often take is the real brain food?. Glucose is the major source of entry for brain. When we get stress, the desires for something sweet increase with the quantity of stress hormones produced. Sugar are divided into monosaccharides and polysaccharides.

Monosaccharides of which the must important is glucose are contained in sweets which provide a rapid supply of sugar to blood stream. For ex. : If you eat a chocolate , your blood sugar level soars quickly and a lot of the happy hormone serotonin is formed in the brain. But this effect also falls away rapidly. So the result is a sudden feeling of fatigue.

Sugar should be taken in the form of polysaccharides or complex carbohydrates. Because they still have to be  broken down in the digestive system, the blood sugar level is kept move constant and with it the ability for concentrate. Complex carbohydrates are primary to be found in whole grain product, oats, potatoes, peas and beans, fruits and vegetables.

The nerve cell in the brain need unsaturated fatty acid if they are to provide a free flow of information. Omega-3 fatty acid in particular help ward off event like strokes and clogged arteries. These good fatty acid can be found in nuts and peanut, linseed oils, tuna and salmon.

While vitamins-A , C, E are anti oxidant vitamin that form an important component of brain food, where they eliminate the oxygen radials that are held responsible for damaging cell and thus offer protection to nerve and blood vessel. Deficiency in these vitamin can lead to nervousness irritability and fatigue.

Strawberries and kiwi fruit are ideal as they contain more vitamin C then orange. The B group is also essential for good nerves, as they protect brain and nerve cell and stimulate the formation of new nerve tissue. It can be found in yeast, wheat gem, beansprout and liver.

P/s: So please use your... BRAIN before you eat...!
